CHURCH PLANTING

We believe that the most effective, disciplemaking ministry is done through church planting. If you believe you are gifted and wired to be a church planter, we would love to pray with you, encourage you, and to help guide you through the assessment phase.

THE ASSESSMENT PROCESS

If you believe you are being called to plant a church in Texas or Oklahoma, we would love the opportunity to speak with you and walk through the process alongside you.

Before beginning the process, we encourage you to review our  Statement of Faith to ensure you affirm the EFCA Statement of Faith.

assessment

A thorough and multi-phased assessment takes a wholistic approach in evaluating a candidate and their family’s potential to begin, lead, and multiply a church plant.

BOOT CAMP training

After successful completion of the assessment, planters participate in several trainings to help prepare and equip them for their church planting journey.

coaching

The “Better Together” mantra continues into 1-on-1 coaching for planters. Coaching relationships provide encouragement, support, and accountability for planters.

Church Planting Residency Program

Program Overview

Once assessed and approved, a church planter spends 12 months with a sending church, learning and preparing to launch a church plant. Both the district and the sending church combine to provide between $30,000-$75,000 for the residency year with additional funding offered post-launch. (Note: We also offer a district health insurance plan and a national EFCA retirement plan plus disability insurance.) At the conclusion of the 12-month Church Planting Residency Program, a church planter launches a new church plant to the glory of God with people and money.

Post-launch, we aim to excel in leadership development and to invest in our planters by coming alongside and staying in close contact with our church planters — their coach is building into them; their Partner Advisory Team is building into them; their band of brothers from Multiplying Together is building into them. We work hard to develop church planters and help them grow to their full potential.

Training
  1. EFCA Church Planting Boot Camp for church planting training. This is offered every January in Houston and every May in Dallas.
  2. Next Level Coaching Network for cohort leadership training and development.
  3. Multiplying Together for multiplication training, peer-coaching and accountability.
