Need someone for pulpit supply?
I am currently a D.Min. Candidate at DTS and served as the Senior Pastor at Alvin Bible Church from 2001-2011. Since leaving Alvin Bible Church I have been working as a gymnastics coach at Acro Sports in Webster, TX. I also served at Brenham Bible Church, EFC as their Youth, Associate and Interim Senior Pastor from 1996-2000. During my time at Brenham Bible Church, I also taught the Junior and Senior Bible Course at Brenham Christian Academy and preached at the weekly Chapel service. I am married to a wonderful woman (Carole) and we have a wonderful 14 year old daughter (Lia).
I am interested in serving in either a full time capacity, interim or bi-vocational. In addition, I would be interested in any associate position that included dicipleship or youth. My passion is to be of service to Christ and His church.

Dr. Thomas S. Burris Sr.
Linda and I grew up in Christian homes in the Kansas City, Kansas area, and both received the Lord at early ages. We met through YFC.We were both involved in music. I played the violin and was in a string quartet and played in the K.C. Symphony Orchestra while in my high school years. I did vocal solo and chorale work while there and in college and seminary. Linda was a member of the American Guild of Organists, and became a certified dermatology R.N. and was the head nurse for Northwestern University Medical Faculty (dermatology) and later at the Cardinal Bernardine Cancer Center of Loyola University.
I am a graduate of Columbia Bible College (BA/BE), Dallas Theological Seminary (ThM.) and Grace Theological Seminary of Winona Lake, Indiana (D. Min.). I served in five churches, four of which I served as senior pastor over the course of 37 years in ministry before retiring in 2007. My longest tenure was 19 years in Elmhurst, Illinois, a Chicago suburb. While in Chicago I served with the Veteran's Administration Cooperative Studies Program on the Human Rights Committee overseeing all research using VA facilities nationwide.
Since that time I have served as intentional interim pastor of five churches in PA., MD., and MO., with Interim Pastor Ministries. I seek to continue ministering especially to churches in transition.
I am available in generally the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, but would be open to a much greater distance with an overnight stay. I am available on short notice if a particular need arises and the church is within a reasonable travel time.
My heart is in helping churches that are experiencing trauma and difficulty, however, I am only available for interims through Interim Pastor Ministries.
